Flight
The easiest way is by flying into Oaxaca International Airport (OAX). Most international flights connect through Mexico City (MEX), and from there it’s just a quick one-hour flight to Oaxaca. Airlines like Aeroméxico, Volaris, and Viva Aerobus all make the trip several times a day. If you’d rather stretch your legs, you can also land in Mexico City and take a road trip or bus ride to Oaxaca (about 6–7 hours). Once you land in Oaxaca, you’re only about 20–30 minutes from the city center. Taxis and airport shuttles are easy to find, so you’ll be at your hotel in no time!
Travel Note
Oaxaca’s airport is nice and small, and getting into town is super easy! The city center (where most hotels and Airbnbs are) is only about 20–30 minutes away. Right outside the terminal you’ll find a kiosk where you can buy a ticket for a shared shuttle (colectivo van) or a private taxi. Both are safe and reliable — the shuttle is more budget-friendly, while a private taxi gets you straight to your door. Rideshare apps such as Uber and Lyft are not available in Oaxaca, so we recommend using the official airport transportation service.
Hotel
We recommend Hotel NaNa Vida Boutique — it’s charming, centrally located, and a favorite of ours. If you mention you’re attending Kevin & Marcela’s wedding when booking, you’ll receive a 20% discount on your stay.
