Question

What should I wear to the ceremony?

Answer

Formal Tropical Attire Colors, Prints, Linen, Chiffon etc! The bridal party will be wearing a sage green color. For the gentlemen think linen, light button ups, flowy breathable fabrics no need for tuxedos please and neck ties are optional. For the ladies midi, maxi or mini dresses welcome. Even a two piece set would be lovely. There are Pinterest boards linked below for your inspiration if you are more of a visual person. Please no jeans, Hawaiian shirts, flip flop sandals, shorts or white dresses. Thank you all! Will I need a Visa?

Answer

If you are a US passport holder, you will need an E-Visa to enter Brazil. Apply online via Brazil's official portal at least 2 months before travel. You will need your passport, bank statements, proof of accommodation, and a fee of about $80 per person. E-Visa processing takes about 5 business days, please plan accordingly, thank you! More information can be found here: https://br.usembassy.gov/message-to-u-s-citizens-new-visitor-visa-requirements-for-u-s-citizens-traveling-to-brazil/ If you are a German passport holder your job is easy, no visas required for stays up to 90 days. Please have your passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your arrival date. :)

Will I need a vaccination to enter Brazil?

Answer

As of July 20, 2025 vaccinations are not required to enter Brazil. Please make sure to check this on your own 3 months prior in the event their requirements have changed.

What will the weather be like?

Answer

We expect the weather to be in the mid 70s during the day and mid 60s at night. Might want to bring a shawl or cover up in the evening as the event is partially outdoors.

What airport should we fly in to for Rio?

Answer

There are two airports a more regional airport and a more international airport. International: Galeão International Airport (GIG) is approximately 25 mins from Santa Teresa. Regional: Santos Dumont (SDU) is approximately 10 mins from Santa Teresa.

How do we get around in Rio?

Answer

Rio de Janeiro widely uses Uber and Lyft we recommend these options to get around and we recommend purchasing the higher tiers for rides for security.

What time should I be at the venue?

Answer

Please arrive at 3:30pm (the venue will not allow you entry if you arrive earlier than 3:30pm) to enjoy welcome drinks and bites! We look forward to seeing you all!

What time do I need to be in my seat for the ceremony?

Answer

Lauren will walk the aisle 4:00pm sharp, please be in your seat before 4:00pm on July 25, 2026. The bride and groom greatly appreciate it! xoxoxo!

What time should I head home after the reception?

Answer

Please plan on heading home at around 11:00pm. We have the venue space until midnight but the last hour is for clean up and slow trickle home/ time to say goodnight.

When will we eat?

Answer

There will be small bites before the reception at 3:30pm. Then after the ceremony drinks and more small bites will be served at around 6:00pm. Expect dinner to be served at around 7:00pm approximately.

Do I need to RSVP to the ceremony and the reception?

Answer

If you RSVP for the ceremony we will automatically assume you are joining the reception after. The reception and ceremony are located at the same venue.

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

On your RSVP invitations if the invite is not addressed to you plus a guest we unfortunately won’t be able to accommodate additional guests. We thank you for your understanding as our venue has a capacity limit.

What time do the immediate family and bridal/ groom party have to be at the venue?

Answer

The immediate family and bridal/ groom party are allowed into the venue at 3pm local time. We will all take pictures ahead of 3pm and more information for that will be communicated directly to immediate family well in advance of the big day.

Will transportation be provided from my hotel to the ceremony?

Answer

At this time transportation will not be provided, another above FAQ outlines the address for our ceremony and reception so you know where to go.
