Despite Katie showing up 45 minutes late to their first date, Marc stuck around and now he's stuck forever.
Marc waited to find the perfect spot to pop the question while hiking in Acadia on their Maine summer vacation. Initially suspicious of at what point on the trip Marc would ask, Katie didn't see it coming as Marc made sure to keep the hand sanitizer -- which, because it's 2020, Katie was constantly reaching for -- and the ring box in different compartments of his hiking backpack. When they reached a rocky cliff overlooking the water, Katie knew she wanted to capture a picture of seagull -- and Marc knew this is where he wanted to propose. With Katie distracted, Marc reached into the *other* compartment of the backpack for the ring, and asked for Katie's (well-sanitized) hand in marriage.
