Marc's version: "We met at American idol auditions. I was there as a budding star in the industry deciding if I should pursue a musical career. I don't know what she was doing there. We got to talking. We decided to meet up again at a buffalo wild wings a few weeks later. Fast forward to the last Saturday of November. Michigan lost its chance at the playoffs. Again. I was distraught! I still agreed to meet Jaime there but she didn't have an appetite. We had a few drinks and had a nice time and agreed to meet up again soon. 5 late November Michigan losses, 3 graduate degrees, 2 apartments and 5 years later rest is history." Reality: We met online- Marc was intrigued by my love of pizza and the Giants. Marc claimed he was "too busy" to meet up until a couple weeks later when he was pouting over a Michigan loss and decided he was going to get a drink at Buffalo Wild Wings. Our love story started over a margarita and a beer (and no food, even though I was ravenous). In his secretly romantic fashion, he actually proposed to me that night with a ring pop. I remember coming home and laughing about it with my mom, "imagine I actually end up marrying this guy?" ... Five years later and a much nicer ring, it's coming true!
On October 12th 2019, we went to Pennings Farm with Deb and Becca. I knew I was on a shot clock when Jaime not so subtly said “I wore this outfit because I thought you were going to propose today..” Two weeks later, I got a ring and called all of her friends to begin planning a dinner that would be disguised as a Friendsgiving dinner. Unfortunately, the surprise was in doubt when Jaime found some planning messages on my computer and the cat was really out of the bag when a friend texted her the morning of with a not so subtle message. Nevertheless, I got down on one knee at Chart House in Weehawken and asked "would you wanna spend pizza Friday's with me for the rest of your life" and obviously, she said yes.
