Our First Date

First comes football, then comes marriage

Our first date was a sneaky date that came with some white lies. It dates back to our High School days when Amanda had to be dropped off by her parents wherever she went since she didn't drive. On December 21, 2014 the Colts were playing the Cowboys (score is not of importance), and we needed an excuse to watch the game together. Amanda told her parents that I was hosting the entire Laredo Sister City's group for a watch party, but when Amanda was dropped off there were only 2 cars in the driveway. Amanda was the first and only person to get there and when she was "picked up after everyone had left early." Mr. & Mrs. Perez thanks for giving Amanda a ride to our first date. Amanda, Sorry for finally outting you on your lie lol, I love you forever -Marc

Going the Distance

I love you near or far.

Marc and I let life and distance get between us for about a year and a half, so I was surprised when he asked to meet up at a music festival we were both going to. My phone didn't have much service, so I looking for him for about an hour before we finally found each other. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but sparks were flying! We were right back where we left off and the heart eyes turned into a long distance relationship before we even knew it. I'll never forget all of the after class/middle of the night trips to each other, the classes skipped, and the Discover card charges we made going between College Station and SA. We really drove a 6 hour round trip just to spend a couple of hours together, and I wouldn't change a single thing. There's no circumstance that's ever prevented us from being happy together. I can't say the proposal was a surprise. After A&M game days, Marc used to drunk call me to say that Diego was going to be his best man at our wedding. I always loved that. Distance taught me that love takes work, but you will always be worth all of my efforts, best friend! Love always, Amanda <3

In Your Arms

Well, Why Not?

Like everyone else, Covid lockdowns gave us a lot of time to listen to music, relax, and do nothing. Amanda and I spent a lot of that time jamming out and spending some quality time out in our balcony enjoying the sunset views. During all these jam sessions we would listen to the song, "In Your Arms" by Illenium. Part of the lyrics say " No, we may never sleep under Northern Lights, But I've seen the stars flicker in your eyes". After singing this line every day, I wondered how Amanda's eye would flicker if we were both under the northern lights. I started doing some research on where was the closest/ open place where we could see the northern lights, and that took us to Alaska. We had an incredible time, and while the northern lights were beautiful the sparkle in Amanda's eye is an image that will be engrained with me forever for I've never seen a sight so immensely beautiful. Love, Marc

Game Time

The day is finally here!

From the time I met Marc in 2014 to now, we have grown an unimaginable amount. We've made memories, mistakes, lessons and compromises. We've had the best days together, and we've loved each other though the worst ones. I'm so excited to continue to grow, prosper and chase our happiness together. I can't imagine how things can get any better than this, but I know they will. Up next: The BEST Day Ever -Wifey-to-be
