We encourage for anyone who can, to plan for a weekend trip to Lutsen, from Friday 11/19 to Sunday 11/21. Our ceremony will start on Saturday 11/20 at 3pm, and Lutsen cannot guarantee early check ins for day of. To avoid having to leave luggage in the car, late check in or having to leave the wedding event, We'd love to have everyone join for a weekend adventure. However, if a weekend getaway does not work in your time line, Lutsen Resort will do what they can to help keep belongings secure until you are able to check in which is 4pm or after. The wedding ceremony will begin at 3pm and we request people arrive a quarter to. For day of, please arrive no later then 2:40pm so you have time to park if need be and walk to the ceremony site.
All 3 events will be at Lutsen Resort but in different locations. Our Ceremony will be outside on the beach of Lutsen Resort, which is not a far walk from the main entrance. Dinner will be in their dining area on the main floor. The reception will be held after dinner on the second floor of Lutsen Resort in their ball room.
Follow I-35E N and I-35 N to MN-61 N/London Rd in Duluth. Take exit 259 from I-35 N Follow MN-61 N to Cliffhouse Rd in Lutsen Lutsen Resort will be on your right. There will be a large sign, with a drive splitting in two. You can take either way and it will bring you around to Lutsen Lodge and check in.
The dress code is semi formal. Because the ceremony is on their pebble beach, we recommend wearing shoes that do not have a spikey heel. Please remember to bring warm layers for the ceremony, after that the rest of the wedding will be indoors.
Wear whatever makes you feel good and you’re happy with. If that’s a white outfit, go for it. We aren’t standing by some archaic rule that says only the bride wears white. You can wear whatever shade and color you wish.
We will be on the North Shore, so chances are it will be mostly chilly outside, but minimal to no snow. I've seen the temps vary from high 20 degrees F to High 30's. On Nov 20th, 2019 we had a beautiful sunny day with it being about 25 degrees out.
The Bride and Groom will make their way to a private location with the photographer. Guests, family and wedding party will start making their way to the dining room to find their seats for dinner.
Heck Yea! We know making a trip out of town can make finding a sitter challenging and we would like to celebrate with everyone. We're not gonna lie, kids are great at dance parties!
Yes! The block however is only up until Mid September, so you'll want to book ahead of time. Anyone who books and mentions they are with our wedding, the Clark/Kelly wedding, will receive 10% off their stay. Once the block is gone, guests will still be able to book with Lutsen, there just won't be a guarantee of what will be available. Lutsen Resort does require a two night minimum stay. If they try to say otherwise, Please contact Mara or Matthew right away. The Two night minimum is stated in our contract.
Lutsen resort has several parking locations on site and parking is free.

We are asking everyone to RSVP by 9/17/21. We know this is quite early. We set it at this date to give us time to connect with everyone and Lutsen will be asking for a head count for dinner by early October. We are asking everyone to RSVP online. If there seems to be an error or difficulty going through the RSVP option, please reach out to Matthew or myself and we will get you RSVP’d.
The ceremony site will not be wheel chair accessible, however there is a platform for those who are unable to move to the beach to be at so they can still witness and hear the ceremony. The dining area and reception are both wheel chair accessible.
There will be a cash bar at the reception. We will have desserts at the reception as well, and then if you can make it, smores at the bonfire!
We will have vegan/vegetarian and gluten free options. We will also be avoiding anything containing nuts.

Yes, While your presence is the best gift to us, if you would like to bring a gift, we are registered right here through Zola, Target, West Elm and Honeyfund.
We hope people love the center pieces, but please do not take any home with you. We have future plans for the decorations. Thank you.
