* Bari Karol Wojtyła Airport (BRI) - The largest international airport in Puglia, offering numerous flight connections. * Brindisi Papola Casale Airport (BDS) - A convenient and accessible alternative for travelers heading to southern Puglia, including Porto Cesareo. Recommended transport options: * Car Rental: Most flexible—ideal for accessing masserias, beaches, and towns on your own schedule. * Private Transfers or Taxis: Convenient if you'd prefer not to drive. Pre-booking is recommended, especially in August.
Train
From Rome (FCO): * Take the Leonardo Express or regional train to Roma Termini station (approx. 30 minutes). * From there, high-speed trains (Frecciarossa or Frecciargento) run to Lecce (approx. 5.5 to 6.5 hours). * Once in Lecce, you can take a local taxi or regional bus to Porto Cesareo (approx. 40 minutes). From Naples (NAP): * Take the airport shuttle or taxi to Napoli Centrale. * From there, take a high-speed train to Lecce (approx. 5 to 6 hours depending on connections). * Then take a taxi or bus to Porto Cesareo. From Bari (BRI): * Take a shuttle or taxi to Bari Centrale (approx. 25 minutes). * Trains run from Bari to Lecce roughly every hour (approx. 1.5 to 2 hours). * From Lecce, travel by taxi or regional bus to Porto Cesareo. From Brindisi (BDS): * Take a taxi or shuttle to Brindisi Centrale (approx. 15 minutes). * Take a short regional train to Lecce (approx. 30 minutes). * Then continue by taxi or bus to Porto Cesareo.
Travel Note
We recommend renting a car for your time in Puglia. Many of the most beautiful towns, beaches, and masserias are in the countryside or along the coast, and public transportation doesn’t always go directly to them.
