Awkwardly Isaac was a friend of Joseph, Mara's brother. One day Joseph was looking for a RPG player for Mara's dad's campaign and Isaac and his brother just happened to have overheard this and volunteered. They came to the house and the specified time and with Mara all dolled up in her best Zelda attire stole the attention of Isaac and from their a friendship flourished. This friendship grew strong and grew quick leading into a love that will last longer than a lifetime.
