In 2020, we met through mutual friends, but what started as a simple introduction and friendship turned into something much more. Our connection felt easy and natural from the very beginning. There was an instant comfort between us. The kind where all sides of us were not only accepted, but encouraged. Before long, Ian asked Mara out on their first date. From there, everything seemed to fall into place. In February 2022, we officially became “us,” though in many ways it had already felt that way for a while. Some of our favorite memories are rooted in the places we’ve explored together. Ian visiting Long Lake, Mara visiting Albany, adventures around Vermont, and weekends spent in Old Forge. We love discovering new places together and can always make the best of it. We’ve learned that love isn’t just about the big moments. It’s in the quiet mornings, the inside jokes, the late-night talks, and the choice to show up for each other every single day. When we got engaged, it felt less like a surprise and more like the most natural next step. McCauley, above our home, was the perfect place to take that next step.
