We love a childhood‑to‑college-to-adulthood best friend. Hannah has been Mara’s partner‑in‑chaos for years. Whether they were chugging a Four Loko, stealing a bean bag, dissecting Big Brother strategy, sipping wine under the Eiffel Tower, or speaking in questionable British accents. One of their favorite memories is from a volleyball game where they managed to let the ball drop directly between them on game point and then burst into laughter (after getting after everyone else for it all game). Hannah is a friend for life and arguably the funniest person you’ll ever meet. She loves her fiancé DJ, counseling other basket cases (Mara included), and playing “Heart and Soul” on the piano. And if you want a true glimpse into their shared history, ask her about the fully choreographed Bratz dance to “Fabulous” that she and Mara made their entire volleyball team watch.
Tyler Allen
Best Man
When he’s not raving about the “Great State of Texas” you can find him watching the Patriots (bandwagon fan) or keeping up with the Aggies scores. Tyler met Christian in 2022, and the two have bonded over cancel-worthy commentary and sports. Tyler enjoys losing to Mara in arcade basketball, being a father to his sweet baby girl, spending time with family and friends, and watching whatever binge-worthy show Ireland suggests, such as Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and Love Is Blind. Also, ask him about Buc-ees.. he has a lot to say. Gig Em.
Alisa Jang

In 2015, in classic sorority fashion, Mara and Alisa became Big and Little. From day one, Alisa stepped into the role of a true big sister... guiding Mara through college, offering résumé wisdom, and swapping stories over cocktails. Alisa loves the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx (who conveniently pay her salary), sushi dates, and living in what is objectively the coolest building in Minneapolis. Alisa is one of Mara's favorite people to hear a story from, she makes them so entertaining and funny. And as corny as it sounds, Mara really does see Alisa as a sister for life. Christian would also like to note that Alisa has the funniest expressions. He remembers going out to dinner once and after every recommendation, Alisa made a sour face after saying "Oh that sounds good!"
Zach Quam

You know where you meet great friends? Noodles & Company. Christian and Zach, fondly known as Quam, worked together for four years, supporting each other through terrible customer interactions and late-night shifts. The two lived together, with Katie (Quam’s wife), in Bloomington and Chaska for four years. In Chaska, is when Christian met Mara and let his roommates know “I have a friend coming over.” Quam has seen Christian in his early 20s (yikes), from getting drunk and upset at most Minnesota Sports (double yikes), to getting engaged. Quam enjoys his sweet family of Katie, Micah, and their little canine-psycho Sylvie, wrestling, and Mich Goldens.
Dania Houle

Though they were in the same sorority, Mara and Dania didn’t truly connect until a college trip to Italy in 2016 (Dania’s senior year.) Somewhere between becoming “international criminals” (a story for another time) and exploring Italy’s most iconic cities, their friendship solidified. Mara fondly remembers hunting down gluten‑free bakeries across the country to accommodate the celiac queen herself. Since then, their bond has only grown stronger. Dania loves romance novels, her husband Taylor, and hosting banger Halloween parties. Mara is endlessly grateful for how their friendship blossomed long after college.
George Kenney

When he’s not rolling dice or enjoying a glass of the perfect red blend, you’ll find him in the tattoo shop. Or perhaps you’ll find him in the record store searching for his next musical fixation. George has been a great friend to Christian since they started working together in 2020. George’s biggest passions are D&D, a few too many, and cheering on his boys.
Dani Breyer

Have you ever met someone and thought, “Wow, we’d be great friends!” — and then… done absolutely nothing about it? That’s exactly how Mara and Dani’s friendship began. They were in the same Kappa Delta pledge class, clocking each other as “potential friends” years before they would be. Over Minneapolis happy hours, the chaos of mid 20s life, and the genuine joy of watching each other grow, their friendship became something truly meaningful. Dani loves her kitties, her husband Gunnar, and being an all-around creative genius. And, more importantly, she’s the one who introduced Mara to her now favorite drink: the Dirty Martini.

Brady is like the younger brother Chrisian never had. They met while working at Scheels, and he quickly became a close friend. Their friendship is built on crude humor, easy banter, hitting the slopes for a day of snowboarding, and the kind of sibling‑style teasing that never gets old. Brady loves hunting (even if the success rate is… questionable), golfing, and generally being a lovable buffoon in the best possible way. He’s been a constant source of laughter and loyalty, and Christian is grateful to have him standing by his side.
Evelyn Dondoneau

A seven-year age gap and a stereotypical relationship – Christian and Evelyn are a sibling duo for the books. Unfortunately, Evelyn got a brother and spent her younger years bribing Christian into going shopping and being the little sister she never had. Mara lovingly remembers her first Christmas with Christian's family, noting that Evelyn made sure to make her feel welcome. Evelyn enjoys being a doctor (queen), spending time with her family, and going to Disney World.
Cole Zupko

Another big sibling age gap, an eight-year difference, didn’t stop Cole and Mara from having the typical brother-sister relationship, butting heads since Mara started talking. However, they’ve seen each other grow up into the people they are today — from having Harry Potter marathons while Mara skips school, seeing Demetri Martin live (first time seeing Cole fangirl), to having 2-hour therapy phone calls every few months. Mara is thrilled to have her brother stand up at her wedding, as she did for him at his. Cole enjoys spending time with his family, building anything from Legos to vehicles, and running his own business.
Katie Payette

The all-time hype woman, party starter, and girl’s girl. Katie Payette, better known as KTP, has enough energy in her bones to put Xcel Energy to shame. She’s known Mara since 2015, helping all the KD girls find their bearings in college and beyond. KTP enjoys dancing, hyping up fans for the Minnesota Timberwolves, running the aux, curling, and being the life of every party. You’ll likely get to know her well as she’s the world’s biggest social butterfly with a heart to match.
Ireland Allen

Christian met Ireland back in 2021, as the girlfriend of Best Man, Tyler. Mara met Ireland at Up-Down when she was Tyler’s fiancée, just weeks after her first date with Christian. Mara remembers meeting Ireland and hoping one day her relationship would result in an engagement as well. Ireland is the kindest angel out there, always down for a double date, and our South Dakota superstar. Tyler and Ireland are also recent parents and are soaking in the glory of their new family.
Amelia Dondoneau

One of our favorite girls, Amelia brings endless spunk and joy to the family. He remembers babysitting her once, and when he turned around to find the tv remote, Amelia had crawled all the way across the living room and pulled down the Christmas stockings, earning Chris a good‑natured scolding from his mom. Today, Amelia loves hockey, swimming, dance, reading and watching Harry Potter, and delivering classic knock‑knock jokes with full enthusiasm. They are both so excited to watch her grow into the strong, independent woman she’s meant to be.
Madelyn Dondoneau
Flower Girl
One of our favorite girls. Mara especially remembers playing dolls with Maddelyn at Christmas. Mara was very nervous her doll-playing skills weren't up to par, but Maddelyn let her know she was having a blast. The couple look forward to seeing Maddelyn grow into herself and seeing more of her personality as she ages! Also, Mara loves her resilience when her parents tell her she needs to hug family.
Hawk Zupko
Ring Bearer
The ultimate cool kid. Hawk is an 9-year-old Tik Tok star in the making. Mara was studying abroad when he was born, so she’s technically only known him for 8 ½ years. Hawk enjoys elementary school, Grand Theft Auto, and professional Minnesota sports teams (and cussing out the Buffalo Sabers). After meeting Christian once, Hawk told Mara, “Yeah, Christian is probably my best friend.”
Tate Leverenz

Tate and Christian met at Scheels a few years ago, proving you can find really everything you need at a sporting goods store — including a lifelong friend. Whether they're hitting the slopes, losing golf balls in the woods, or testing the limits of their livers, Tate is always in the middle of the action. We've put him in charge of seating because his laugh is basically a human foghorn that can help guide you to your seat. If you hear a deep, booming chuckle from across the venue, you've found Tate.
Rachel Kuntz
The Muscle
An outspoken queen. A generational beauty. A woman you absolutely want on your side. Rachel is one of the couple’s fiercest cheerleaders, a great friend, and always down for anything. Volleyball league, supporting her community, happy hour, impromptu shopping trip. If it’s happening, she’s in. Standing at a commanding 6 feet in heels, Rachel has been officially designated as The Muscle for the wedding. Translation: if you’re acting up, she will know… and she will handle it. We recommend staying on her good side, unless you’re hoping for a live reenactment of Miss Trunchbull from Matilda.
