Travel Note
Cartagena was founded in 1533 and blossomed into the main Spanish port on the Caribbean coast and the major northern gate-way to South America. The city is a strange mix of old and new. When you fly in you will see a vibrant modern city filled with skyscrapers, cruise boats and commercial activity. However, it is the walled "old city" of the city that is the heart of Cartagena. The walled "old city" is where the wedding events will take place and where most of our hotel recommendations will be located. For pictures click "view" below.

Travel Note
Timing: We recommend you start this process earlier so you can explore your options . February is a busy month and hotels can book up quickly. Location: All wedding events will be happening in the "old city". In this area you can step outside your hotel and walk the historic centers, sample restaurants, and people watch while sipping coffee or a cold beer from one of the old city's beautiful plazas. Please reach out if you have any questions.
Rental Car
In the City: Before getting in a taxi, it's important you ask how much the ride will cost as Taxis in Cartagena do not have meters. From the airport: When you make your way out of the airport you will see signs for Taxis. Follow the signs. You will be taken to a welcome booth where an airport associate will ask you for the area where you are going to so they can give you an estimate of what the cab ride will cost.
House Or Rental
Cartagena has many different, wonderful places to stay. Each spot is unique and offers its own special character and amenities. We recommend AirBnB if you are looking to rent an apartment or an entire house as hotels can sometimes be a more expensive option. Reviews are a great resource to help you make the decision if the AirBnB you are thinking of renting is a good fit.
