Ashley and Manuel first met in high school during what was supposed to be a quiet BIM (computer) class. Instead, they were both moved away from their friends for talking too much and seated next to each other, a decision that unknowingly changed everything. They quickly became friends, bonding over laughter, teamwork, and Ashley’s fresh baked goods from her culinary class the period before. That first year, their relationship was purely platonic. They supported each other through class, weather it was answers to homework or homemade goodies. By the following summer, both were single, and friendship slowly turned into something more. Group hangouts became dates, and on October 15, 2017, during their first date Manuel showed up with roses and chocolates and asked Ashley to be his girlfriend. From that moment on, they’ve been inseparable. Shortly after Ashley graduated high school, she moved in with Manuel’s family, while Manuel took on a growing role in his family’s business and Ashley balanced college and work during the day. What started young has grown strong relationship built on communication, patience, and choosing each other every day. In 2024, they took on one of the most challenging and rewarding chapters of their journey, when Manuel built their home. While many didn’t fully understand their path Ashley and Manuel knew this was the life they wanted to build. Together, they stayed committed to their vision, working side by side and creating a foundation that reflects their shared values, determination, and faith. Anyone close to them will tell you they don’t fight. Not because life has been easy, but because they’ve always worked through disagreements together. They’ve grown up side by side, learning, maturing, and building a life rooted in love and faith. And after years of choosing each other every single day, the next chapter of their story was ready to begin...a moment Manuel had been carefully planning for months. ⸻ The Proposal Anyone who knows Manuel knows he is a perfectionist when it comes to the people he loves & things he cares about, and the proposal was no exception.
