We first connected on a dating app during COVID, quickly followed by our first date where we went hiking at Great Falls, VA. What was supposed to be only a 90 minute hike turned into five hours of easy conversation. Fun fact, this date was originally supposed to be in the Shenandoah Mountains, but Matthew's old minivan broke down shortly before the date, trapping him in Northern Virginia.

After dinner at one of our favorite restaurants in St. Petersburg, FL, Matthew drove us to Pass-a-Grille Beach for the sunset and walked us to a beautiful picnic proposal set up on the beach. The words shared are a blur, but there was no doubt in saying YES once Matthew got down on one knee. We were thrilled to then celebrate our engagement with our closest friends and family who flew down for a surprise engagement party. It was one of the best days of our lives and a great way to kick off our engagement era.
