In a year heavily impacted by Covid, Abby and I were unable to do that much. Though we wanted to get engaged in 2020, due to Covid, it started to seem difficult. I "convinced" her that we wouldn't get engaged until 2021. Instead, I suggested we should have a big outing toward the end of the year to make up for what we missed. I took Abigail to one of her favorite restaurants, River Cafe. It has a business professional dress code, which made for an easy excuse to dress up. It has a beautiful view, right off the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge. We had a wonderful dinner, walked around the area, before taking an uber (the uber that showed up happened to be Abby's favorite car) to the city. The uber dropped us off 2 blocks away from the location, about 30 minutes early. We walked around the city for about 20 minutes (we were close to Times Square so not a boring area to be in) before going to the engagement location. Without giving away to much, I held her hand, and guided her to the rooftop where her engagement setup was. The rest as they say, is history.
