It’s hard to say when or where we actually met because we have known eachother for as long as we can both remember. People constantly ask us the question “How did you guys meet?” We normally use the answer “We don’t remember” which tends to get kind of confusing. Allegedly… we met in U8 soccer when we were 8 years old but we don’t remember. We do have pictures and videos of both of us there playing on different teams against one another. In middle school, we would walk to the Manning’s house with groups of friends and play soccer after school. In 9th grade, we sat next to one another in math class and one person taught the other how to graph the slope of a line. I’m sure you can all guess who lol. Fast forward to October of 11th grade. We went on our first date without knowing it was a first date. We went to Kennywood’s Fright Night with two friends and got separated from them. We walked through all of the haunted houses together and didn’t think much of it because we had always been great friends. The next day a red headed friend of ours decided to play matchmaker. Matt received a text message that said, “Do you like Ang she likes you?”Ang also received the text “Do you like Matt he likes you?” Both of us answered the message with yes and we have been together ever since. As you can see, we don’t really know a life without one another. We are so lucky and thankful to have something so special between the two of us and we cannot wait to celebrate our love with you all.
Through college, Matt knew that he was going to propose to Ang, but he wanted to wait for the right timing. After both Matt and Ang were out of college and settled, Matt envisioned surprising Ang on her family vacation or at a family gathering. Knowing how close Ang is with her family, Matt wanted as many family members there for the engagement as possible. After asking for permission to ask Ang for her hand in marriage, Matt and Ang’s parents discussed the best time and place for the proposal. The conclusion was, at Easter, where the whole family would be together to celebrate, which was less than two weeks from the time of that conversation… In two weeks, plans were set and the ring was selected. That Easter, the Easter Bunny brought a special golden egg. As friends and family hid, Matt and Ang set off on a staged Easter hunt with only one golden egg actually hidden. In a fit of annoyance due to the cold and damp Pittsburgh spring weather, Ang quickly found the egg and handed it to Matt. It was then that Matt revealed the contents of the golden egg, the engagement ring, and got down on one knee. She said…YES and was quickly surrounded by elated friends and family.
