Alexa and Anthony met in 2018, at a place that no one really wants to find their significant other, in a correctional facility! We met working at the RI Training School. We often ask - would our paths have crossed if Alexa didn’t make the brave decision to work there? But, we are ecstatic and fortunate that we did. Anthony often brings up how he thought Alexa “was a social worker and that there was no way a pretty girl like her would work as a correctional officer”. Although, Alexa and Anthony didn’t work together and only saw each other in passing or when he picked up an overtime to relieve her, they always made jokes and laughed together. The two began to date and have been together since. The two have gone through a great deal together including Alexa’s two Hodgkin lymphoma cancer diagnoses, a 3 week hospitalization stay for a stem cell transplant, and many other procedures. Anthony has stuck by Alexa’s side and was there every step of the way through losing herself, her confidence, and her hair (TWICE). Anthony assured Alexa that he was there to stay and that she did not have to worry or second guess his faithfulness during this devastating time. Anthony always told Alexa that “We will get through this”. Alexa trusted his word and here they are getting married! Alexa and Anthony’s loyalty and devotion to each other is so powerfully built and indestructible. Alexa and Anthony have already practiced and achieved the vow “in sickness and in health”. The two have also accomplished much more as a growing couple. They bought a house, brought home their precious dog, Sunny, from Utah, have supported each other through career changes and busy business work/life, and have done a great amount of traveling. Alexa and Anthony enjoy spending time with their beloved family, traveling, grilling on summer nights, and indulging at their favorite restaurants and local ice cream shop.
