Guests should dress modestly for the wedding ceremony. Gurdwara (Sikh temple) etiquette includes removing your shoes and covering your head upon entering the gurdwara. There are shoe racks to the left as you enter the gurdwara. You may wear a scarf, bandana, or turban to the Kirtan but hats such as baseball caps and beanies are not allowed. We will have head coverings available for all guests who may need a scarf or bandana. During the religious service, attendees will be sitting on the floor during the wedding ceremony, so please keep that in mind when selecting your outfit. Please remember to keep your heads covered at all times and talking to a minimum during the wedding ceremony and Sikh Kirtan (devotional music).
There are a variety of hotel and Air B&B options available in the NW suburbs of Chicago where the events will be held. Central locations include: Schaumburg, Arlington Heights, or Mt. Prospect with easy access to the I90 highway. The events are also accessible without the highway via local roads.
