Wedding Party

Check out our incredible wedding party!

Katie B

Maid of Honor

Our friendship goes back to 3rd grade at Piney Grove Elementary, where I was always impressed with Katie's French braid and button down tank tops. She was also tap dancing with boys to Elvis Presley's Burning Love, which really made me want to be her best friend. We only grew closer as college roommates, MasKaras songs, and Better Than Ezra. Katie is the most thoughtful, genuine spirit I have ever met. Not only is she an incredible human, but we are also able to connect over our sense of humor. When my mom was diagnosed with cancer, Katie immediately sent her flowers and has continued to comfort us with prayers during each scan since. I feel grateful to call her my friend and to have her in our wedding.

Jon

Best Man

Jon has a special place amongst my friends. I have lived with him on two separate occasions for several years each time, and we have played in three different bands together over a period of 15 years! We first met in college at the University of North Alabama when we were 18 and we were great at singing together and causing a raucous around town. We have similar taste in movies and music and analyze each of those things to death, which may prove boring to other people but we love it! He is my best friend for many reasons but mainly because he is always there for me.

Jennifer

Bridesmaid

Our friendship dates back to age three when I saw a strange child playing on my swing set. I went outside to put her in her place and we have been friends ever since. Not only did she put up with me when I forced her to learn my dance routines, but she was always up for new adventures as a child. We shared many sleepovers and she helped guide me through the challenges of childhood. We continue to bond over our love for the outdoors, gardening, and our curiosity about new things. Jennifer is the most creative, hard-working person I have ever met. I always value her perspective and am grateful for so many memorable years of friendship.

Matt

Groomsman

Matt is my oldest pal. We met at Christian elementary school and became instant friends, with many weekend sleepovers involving late-night video games and sneaking into the fridge to get way too many Cokes. As we got older, we played music together, built websites along side one another, and always had lots to talk about. He knows me better than I know myself, and always listens to me vent. My favorite thing about our phone conversations is that they always end in a random way, because you have got to keep it random!

Stacey

Bridesmaid

Our first encounter was shortly after college when we both decided to move to the mountains of Colorado. We quickly became friends as we bonded over desert camping adventures, our faith, and our wonderful roommate experience with Horbatt. Over the years we have enjoyed many outdoor adventures, road trips, and conversations as we try to figure things out in our careers. Stacey always helps me see a different perspective and is the most loving, accepting friend I have ever met. I am grateful to have such a faithful, wonderful friend in Stacey.

Grayson

Groomsman

I knew when I first saw Grayson play music, he would be one of my favorite guitarist of all time. I met Grayson working at a record store and we had an instant connection with music and our outlook on humankind. There was a point in our 20's where Grayson and I were living together, in a rock band together, and worked together. Somehow it made us closer and we never wanted to kill each other. I also enjoyed my time with his dog, Blue, the dog pictured here.

Corrie

Bridesmaid

My first encounter with Corrie happened when her brothers told our church about their homeschooled little sister moving to Wilmington. Little did I know how much I would love and connect with little Corrie. We immediately became kindred spirits as we bonded over all the new snacks she would bring home from work each night, her love for decorative pillows, and the Bu. Corrie continues to be a faithful friend and it always feels like no time has passed when we get together. We continue to connect over great snacks, her memorable stories, and the infamous, Harriett. I am grateful for her unconditional love and I wouldn't change a thing about her.

Alex

Groomsman

Alex is a great friend I have seen many shows with over the years and he even helped me with my most recent album. He always knows just what to say and what to add to any conversation or any work of art. His taste is impeccable, whether it be a pub spot to play trivia or which classic movie is good for a re-watch. After I met my fiance, Mandy, they also became really great hiking buddies. I cherish our friendship that has taken many different forms over the years.

Amber

Bridesmaid

Our friendship began at the Denver Rescue Mission when we both decided to live there as interns. Amber not only stood out because of her beautiful red hair, but also because she was always up for new things. From inventing wacky ice cream flavors for our incredible business idea to our really cool brunch club, Amber embraced new things with the most optimistic outlook on life. She continues to carry that same outlook and inspires me each day with her incredible faith, even through the most challenging circumstances. Even with three kids and a husband at home, she still manages to take time for our friendship and never thinks twice about making others feel special. I look forward to many more years of friendship.

Cody

Groomsman

Cody and I met in Middle School. He was a man of stoats and I was a man of dingoes. We both were song writers at an early age and instantly bonded over this new thing called the "internet", while being instantly fascinated by all the music reviews we could find on there. That was 9th grade. Since then, we have been roommates, played music in bands together, and often have long text threads about very specific rock music albums. For his wedding present, I just want a list of his 500 favorite rock albums. That is all I want from him (an updated one -- I still have his old list from high school of course!)

Toni

Bridesmaid

Toni inspired us all from the very beginning. We were not only college roommates, but she cooked homemade Italian dinners, helped me grow in my faith, and introduced us to our dear friend, Lovey. She always goes above and beyond with how thoughtful and caring she is as a friend. Even with a husband and four boys, she continues to welcome me into her home with open arms. She makes homemade Kahlua brownie ice cream for visits and has this amazing family band that plays live music for you. I feel so grateful to call her a friend after all these years.

Mike

Groomsman

Mike is the kind if guy you can always count on, whether it’s a group hang just to talk about the week, a rock show where you can watch him perform by wailing on the guitar, or a conversation where he listens to make you feel better. There are people you meet in life through friends that become friends to you, not just because of common bonds but because you get along in unexpected ways through situations life throws at you. Mike and I just always have the best time talking to each other and making music together; he is an all around great guy, the kind that always has your back!

Katie T

Bridesmaid

Even though I have only known Katie T for a few years, it feels like our friendship goes way back. We first met while working at the Developmental Disabilities Resources Center because Katie welcomed me into her art show planning committee. From there, we realized we were neighbors and continued to collaborate on work projects from that point forward. Katie continues to be the most encouraging person I have ever met and I have never met such an empowering friend and colleague. She inspires others through the incredible work she does each day to make all people live better and more fulfilling lives. I feel so lucky to call her a friend and to have her in my wedding.

Dave

Groomsman

I met Dave when I first started working at Great Escape. He asked me what my favorite band was and I said "Sonic Youth" and he said his was "Pavement" and right then I knew we would be great friends! He has helped me move at least three times, is always up for a deep conversation about movies and/or music, and is a great buddy for music festivals. One time we went to Bonnaroo together and tried to put up a tent and it fell every single night (but we were always able to set it back up!) We are similar in many ways but our conversations are always insightful and meaningful in special ways.

Beckie

Bridesmaid

Trevor was excited to introduce me to his big sister, Beckie, because we love so many of the same foods. She immediately welcomed me into her home for movie parties, cookouts, and birthday celebrations. We continue to connect over our love for avocados, mushrooms, and olives. One day I will convince her to love blue cheese as well. I look forward to becoming her sister-in-law and am excited to have her as a bridesmaid.

Rick

Groomsman

RIck is the best brother-in-law a man could ask for! When I first met him and Bek brought him around, I was hoping he would be the guy she ended up with (now 10 years strong). We always have good conversations about TV, Star Wars, and video games. We were even roommates for three weeks in Europe while we went on a tour of five different countries about 12 years ago. We really bonded on that trip: playing seat buddies, a room without air conditioner, and falling into many tourist traps along the way! But isn't life just one long trip around the sun anyways? Happy to have you in the wedding, brother!
