Well, they went to good ol' Kenmore West together but they weren't friends. Mike was two years older than Mandy, so they knew of each other at school but didn't hang out in the same circle. One time Mike came to Fredonia to visit some friends, (Mandy's junior year 2012) where he ran into Mandy at the bar (in a bathrobe he claims... the jury is still out), and they exchanged numbers but nothing really came of it then. It wasn't until Florida, Spring of 2014, when Mike was visiting his Mom with his friend (Hey, Moyer), and Mandy was on a family vacation, that they both saw on Twitter the other person was in the same place. They decided to meet up at the bar, Gillian's in Siesta Key. They had a blast that night! When they both traveled back to Buffalo, they went on their first official date to the Buffalo Science Museum (The Mummy Exhibit) and the rest was history.

8 years and a house later.... On a Thursday night in March, (Mandy's half birthday to be exact) Mandy thought they were going out to dinner with just her parents that were randomly in town from Florida. This night was planned for a few weeks, but Mandy thought nothing of it. The Saturday prior, Mandy tested positive for Covid. YIKES. However, Thursday was the first day she was allowed out of quarantine so the plans were still on. Now, all week long, Mandy was quite obnoxious telling Mike to not miss the opportunity to ask her parents for permission/blessing, etc. But, little did she know that conversation happened way back in December and this plan was already in motion. They get to Britesmith, but Mike says "Oh is this Glen Falls?" Joe Mogavero and I have a funny story in here I have to go in there and take a picture of myself to send to Joe. Mandy agreed because this is not out of the norm at all. Mandy began to help Mike find the perfect solo spot for his photoshoot, doing some test shots, etc. Next thing ya know, Mike is down on one knee, but Mandy still had her mask on (Covid Probs). Before Mike went into his beautifully prepared proposal, he started by saying "Please take your Mask off, I have a photographer in the bushes". Eventually, Mandy took the mask off but was in total shock that it was really happening, so continued to ask "is this real?". Finally, she said YES!! Mike's brother, Nick came out of the bushes, Sam, the photographer came out, and everyone walked over to Britesmith for the most perfect engagement party with their closest family and friends. Best Surprise ever!!!
