We celebrated one of our anniversaries on this boat! It's a nice way to spend a morning or afternoon... you can pack a picnic, get a ticket that includes a meal, or wait to eat and explore the restaurants in Laconia or Meredith, NH. We recommend the Sunday brunch cruise at weirs beach.
Drive 45 minutes to an hour north to reach the White Mountain National Forest. Our favorite place in New Hampshire. There's such a variety of things to do here from kayaking to nature walks, to scenic train rides, here are a few suggestions. Flume gorge good for all ages Cannon mountain aerial tramway for anyone wanting some beautiful mountain views but isn't up to hiking If you're looking for a hike the "Welch-Dickey Loop" is a great one that peaks two mountain tops, and on the southern tip of the white mountains it'll be the shortest drive to get to. Rated as moderate but some sections do require scrambling which can be difficult if icy. Even just a drive through the national forest is worth it to take in the views. The Kancamangus Highway is a popular scenic drive with lots of by overlook spots to park at. If you plan to do any serious hiking we highly recommend getting a NH Hike Safe Card which can be found through the NH Fish and Game Department.
Fun for any of you history nerds.
A great hike that overlooks the lakes region and mountains. Just 35 minutes west of Steele Hill resort.
