Garden of the Gods is a famous park in the city.  Phenomenal red rock formations.  Some paved walks and gravel path walks.  Very popular on the weekends so go early!!

Red Rocks Canyon is also a city park, very pretty hikes and views.  Route maps at the site.  Some challenging hikes. Much less crowded than Garden of the Gods.

The Broadmoor Manitou and Pikes Peak Cog Railway.  World Famous ride up to the top of Pikes Peak 14,115 feet ( you start at 7000 feet).  Takes 3-4 hours round trip  Where Emily Bates was inspired to write America the beautiful.   Has a Summit Building with souvenirs, food etc.  Need reservations!!! Make at least several weeks ahead.

The Manitou Incline:  A 2000 foot  stairstep climb up the side of the mountain.  Very rigorous.  Produces bragging rights. Need reservations.  See website.
