Question

When is the RSVP deadline? Do I need to mail back my RSVP or can I do it online?

Answer

Please RSVP online only via the RSVP tab no later than December 13th.

Will children be able to attend the ceremony or reception?

Answer

While we love all of the children in our lives, we have decided to keep our wedding and reception an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us!

What is the attire for the wedding?

Answer

The wedding will be semi-formal. Since it is winter in Chicago, the ladies can feel free to wear cocktail dresses, long dresses, dressy jumpsuit or whatever feels the most comfortable. Men should wear suits and ties, but tuxedos are not necessary (though feel free to wear one!).

What will the food and drink options be at the reception?

Answer

We will have all kinds of drink and food options during the cocktail hour, reception, and maybe even something later! We will have a variety of options for both meat eaters and vegetarians. Please notify Mandy or Bill at mandyandbill2020@gmail.com with any dietary restrictions that we may not be considering.

What should I do if I can’t make it?

Answer

You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

We recommend that you arrive a half hour before the start of the ceremony to ensure a timely 6pm start.

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

Answer

We have a hotel block directly across the street from The Rookery at the JW and W hotels. Please see the Travel tab for access to the hotel blocks.

Is parking available near The Rookery?

Answer

Yes! There will be parking for the day of the event at 211 W. Adams Street. You will need to obtain a voucher from the venue for discounted rates for use during your exit from the garage ($16.00, parking for up to 12 hours). You can also use SpotHero for reduced overnight rates in the area, instead of using valet at the hotels. There are plenty of options that are close by, including the 211 parking garage (you can log on to www.iparkit.com to reserve overnight spots there).

Are the ceremony and reception location wheelchair accessible?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will be wheelchair accessible. There will be an elevator available for all guests to get to the second floor of The Rookery for cocktail hour and the restrooms.

Is there a wedding hashtag that we should use?

Answer

Yes! We would love for guests to post pictures on social media with #ourshack so we can keep track of all of your great shots!

Will there be dancing and entertainment?

Answer

There will absolutely be entertainment and dancing! Get ready to have a great time!

Where are you registered?

Answer

Your presence at our wedding is gift enough, but if you would like to also give us a gift, we are registered on this site (Zola) and Amazon.

When should I arrive in Chicago?

Answer

The weather in Chicago will definitely be tough in January so we recommend making the trip in a day or two early, if you can, to avoid weather delays. If not, we will stay hopeful for a beautiful winter day for easy travel!

Will there be coat check at The Rookery?

Answer

Yes, coat check will be available for everyone at The Rookery when you walk into the building.
