We're Getting Married!

In 2016, New Holland Brewing Company opened it's doors at their new Grand Rapids location. Michael was hired as a bar back and I had just transferred from the Holland location to work in the gift shop and was excited to meet some new people. Little did I know, I would be meeting my future husband! Within the first couple of weeks, I noticed this cute guy with beautiful green eyes. I asked a friend what his name was, and from there on out I called him "Cute Michael" (behind his back of course). It was obvious he didn't know my name at first either because he called me "Store Girl" every time he talked to me. After we learned each other's names (finally), we started to become friends, learning more about each other as we chatted and my initial crush on "Cute Michael" never faded.

Michael and I recently bought a house together that we started renovating. We had been talking about marriage and looking at rings, so I knew that a proposal was coming sometime soon. One day, we had been at the house working all day and Michael told me he had to run an errand. I didn't think much of it. When he got back to the house, I noticed he was acting kind of weird! I still just kind of brushed it off, not thinking much about it. Then, as I was busy sanding some trim, he grabbed my arm and said "I can't wait". I must've looked so confused and said "Wait for what?!". He then got down on one knee asked me to marry him! He definitely surprised me because I said "Wait, are you serious?!" about 5 times before I actually said "Yes!"

Michael and I just want to take the time from the start to say 'thank you' to all our family and friends who have supported and prayed for us from the beginning of our relationship. All of the timing through out our relationship has been very obviously orchestrated by God, and we are so thankful. While we know that COVID-19 may effect the way that some of you can celebrate with us, we want you to know that we understand and are grateful to have your support from a distance. For those of you that are still able to celebrate with us in person, we can't wait! See you October 10!
