Having been texting for a few weeks, Megan was sitting in the hallway before English class senior year of high school when Michael asked her to a movie over Thanksgiving break. A bit of planning later (he thought she was saying no when Megan said she was going out of town!) and M&M had their first date at the movies to see The Blind Side and lunch at Panera Bread. Fast forward a month, and Megan’s friends tell Michael that he should ask her to date him. To which he replied, “I thought we already were!”

There is a hike in Washington that has been special to Michael and Megan since Michael was an intern in Seattle during college. After ten years together, four years of long distance during college, and two cross country moves, the time felt right to make things official. On a chilly and misty day in January (the classic PNW weather they have both come to love), Michael nonchalantly convinced Megan to take that special hike. After trekking through the fern-lined evergreen forest, they made their way down to a small secluded beach. He got down on one knee and on very rare occasion, Megan was speechless!
