The Wedding of

We first met in March of 2018 at the CARIFTA Swimming Championships—our very first time at the meet. Even though we both only swam Open Water, we found ourselves meeting up in the middle of each session, day after day, just to talk. Between the cheering, and the excitement of the meet, those little moments quickly became the best part of our day. We didn’t know it then, but something special had already begun.

In 2020, we crossed paths again while exploring universities—and as fate would have it, we were both interested in Howard University. That familiar spark from CARIFTA came rushing back, and this time, it was clear: our story was just getting started. We went on to swim together on the Howard University swim team for three unforgettable years—sharing early morning practices, travel meets, and the everyday life of student-athletes. Through it all, we grew—not just as swimmers or students, but as partners. We supported each other, learned from each other, and built a love rooted in friendship and trust. And then in 2025, in the most perfect way, he asked me to marry him. Without a second thought, I said yes, to our next chapter.
