It really is as funny as it sounds! Rob and I were both at the Benson County Spelling Bee for the schools that we were working for, he will tell you that I couldn't take my eyes off of him.......but I like to point out who actually was the one to reach out to the other first! We started talking, had our first date on 2/15/20...and the rest is history.
Rob and I went out to dinner at our favorite place in town, The Ranch on a Thursday night before he left for, you guessed it, a basketball tournament. I was seated while he had stepped away, when he came to the table he had a fit about where we were sitting. I thought he was being so crazy but I asked the server if we could move since he was making such a fuss about it. We were moved to another table and that's when I saw my friend and co-worker, Natasha, and her two daughters sitting at a table across from us. I told Rob that I saw her and said what a coincidence it was that we were both there at the same time. During our supper while making conversation I actually asked Rob "so when are you gonna propose". I thought he had a really strong reaction to it as he nearly choked on his water, but I was just teasing and went on with the conversation. At one point I ended up going to say hello to Natasha and her and her girls could not stop laughing. I remember thinking it was kind of rude how they weren't talking to me very much, but again, just went on with the evening. Until I went to the bathroom.....when I came back there was a little square black box on the table. At that moment all the light bulbs started to go off! My face got very red and it felt like time completely slowed down. Within a couple minutes Rob was down on one knee asking me to marry him. It was a wonderful and romantic proposal. I'm a lucky girl!
