Father of the Bride
Mandi's dad. Maker. Judge. Best cook around. Seriously, the best meal you will have is in his kitchen. Level headed, but one of the sweetest souls you'll meet. Thinks he's the funniest guy in the room. Long, long story teller- maybe don't have him tell you the Taco Bell story. Tried to be a doctor once and fix Mandi's broken finger, broke it worse. Super skilled in the "tinkering" department, and can make you anything you want. The first half of Mandi's biggest support team. He's always been there for anything she needs and she will never forget that.
Mother of the Bride
Mandi's mom. Hardest worker. Thoughtful. Life of the party. Mandi's first best friend, even if she didn't know it then. Amazing educator, and should probably (re) teach us all fractions and long division. Lover of dogs and a good book. And puzzles. Not sure what to say to someone or type in an email? She'll tell you. Verbatim. Always in charge of a good bonfire. Still looking to catch 'Big Daddy.' She worked at a prison as a guard earlier in life- just saying. The second half to Mandi's support team and one of the best humans she has ever met.
Father of the Spouse
Casey's dad. Singer. Teacher. Piano player. Gardener. Cook. Just a few of his talents and roles. Can always count on him for a good, hot meal. And to want to go out for breakfast (they both love 3 square meals). Took Case to their first (and last) opera. Came to ALL the games growing up despite the fact he did not grow up playing sports. Currently sharing gardening and farming tips that Case never knew they would need. Will always make you laugh. An all around good guy. If up to him, 'Beer Barrel Polka' would definitely be played at the reception (don't tell DJ Ashton Martin).
Mother of the Spouse
Casey's mom. Attached at the hip since birth. Their first coach. Their favorite coach. Ever. Loudest parent in the gym almost always. Their #1 fan (don't tell Brandy). Let Casey pick out whatever clothes they wanted growing up, which resulted in all the Air Jordan Casey's allowance could afford and that amazing Derrick Thomas Jersey. Taught Case how to be handy (they still have much to learn), how to clean their car, work hard and chase their dreams. Perhaps most importantly, showed Case it was perfectly okay to challenge gender norms and do (and be) what sets your soul on fire.
Maid of Honor
Mandi's sister. Doubles as best friend. Mother of 2 amazing little boys, Arlo and Miles. She's the person we all want on our side in a bar fight. As well as just in life in general. Hannah has always been Mandi’s right hand. Younger, but always the ring leader. Lover of a good speakeasy and red lipstick. Hannah is an incredible educator by day and life of the party by night. You just wait. Mandi and Hannah have been through it all together, ask someone to tell you the Taco Bell story. Hannah is a very loyal baby sister, Mandi is lucky she's hers.
Matron of Honor
Casey’s sister, one of their very best friends and was their biggest fan until Mandi came along (but to clarify, not during childhood, right Brandy?!). She's an amazing sister, wife, mom, teacher and friend. Married to Joel and mom to 3 incredible daughters, Hallie, Ella and Millie. She's an avid reader, Chiefs fan and Fireball, but don’t mix the final two or she’ll be telling Case how they’re the only one who can save her. She’s likely to be more anxious than Case come wedding day, hence why she is #thepanictotheircalm. Always encouraged Case to 'Do it right!" and unintentionally taught them many lessons in resilience, which has paid off in dividends. But really, she is the best big sister ever.
Officiant
Casey met Hailee their first year of grad school when they reached out to interview her for a paper they had to write. Then Case went to Hailee's Friday morning spin class, and the rest is history. Hailee has been an incredible friend and it is because of her that Casey is now the best and most authentic version of themselves. Need a spin class that's more like a Sunday sermon with a side of sweat? Hailee's your person. Support and affirmation to be your best self? Hailee. Wing woman? Hailee. Mandi and Case would have never met had it not been for Hailee helping connect them and then pep talking Case to reach out. Hailee also let it be known that very first night that she would in fact be the officiant for their wedding. And now here we are.
Wedding party
Casey's ride or die. Thank goodness for Adele's 21 album or they may have never shared that bonding moment working nights in the MICU. A work friendship quickly became a lifetime friendship. Brooke is an incredible nurse, wife, mom to sweet Lucy, friend and most importantly, human. A go-to for dating advice, fashion, food and everything in between. Brooke is the kind of friend that shows up at 8am on a Monday morning when you've had a lawnmower accident and calmly asks for a bag to go retrieve some fingertips. Yep, if only everyone was lucky enough to have a Brooke in their lives, the world would definitely be a better place.
Wedding Party
Mandi and Paige date way back to braces and bell bottoms. Burnt CDs and Santa hats, that’s how we got here. They met at the barn, taking horseback riding lessons, made it to college together, and back home to continue the fun! They formed a friendship that has gone unmatched, all the way into adulthood. Paige is an incredible friend and a really good cheese roll up maker. (We might need those September 11th come 11:30pm). Paige is a down to earth, solid best friend. Keeper for life.
Wedding Party
Casey was Lindsey's preceptor way back on the nightshift in the MICU. They became fast friends, thanks to those middle of the night patient baths with music playing from their pockets. Countless memories were made during those 'glory days' of nursing, and more importantly, beyond that. From road trips to Royals games, KU basketball games and Chiefs Super Bowl celebrations to concerts and an amazing wedding celebration for Lindsey herself a few years ago, the memories will last a lifetime. September 11th will be one to add to the books!
Wedding Party
Casey and Missy. Chemistry partners in high school at 15 years old. 24 years later and going strong. Roommates freshman year at KU. Missy is also married to a Casey and is an amazing dentist, wife and mom to 3 awesome little boys, Rory, Graeme and Rhys. Missy's been through everything with Case, including all the highs and lows (and countless hairstyles) that got them to today. Too many memories to count, in places all over the world. Mexico, Bahamas, Grand Lake, Phoenix and everything in between. Everyone needs a lifelong friend like Missy.
