Taylor Elkins

Maid of Honor

Friend of the bride. Taylor Elkins (Telks) is a college friend of Taylors at Appalachian State. During their time at App, the “Taylor Gang” grew a strong bond upon meeting through their sorority, Alpha Phi. Shortly after college, Telks took off to explore the world. Thousands of miles couldn’t keep the two apart as their sister like bond remained strong. Telks even got Taylor to take a trip to Thailand with her and the rest of their friends! No amount of distance will ever get in the way of their friendship.

Shawn Bowling

Best Man

Friend of the groom. Childhood friend of Corey’s while living in Andrew, Iowa. From elementary to high school, Corey and Shawn were nearly inseparable due to their strong friendship and living so close to each other. As each continued to jump from city to city as life moved on, Corey and Shawn never stop that from maintaining their strong friendship.

Brittany Fielding

Bridesmaid

Friend of the bride. Brittany and Taylor met at Appalachian State and the Alpha Phi Sorority. Despite their similar strong personalities and fights over leftover burritos, their friendship is like no others with their love and care of one another. Brittany moved to California after graduating, however they remain best friends to this day.

Kris Brinker

Groomsman

Friend of the groom. Childhood friend of Corey’s while living in Andrew, Iowa. Corey and Kris met while they were each in Kindergarten and attending different schools. It was friendship at first site when they first met and Corey told Kris to “get out of my light” when he got in the way of playing his Gameboy. Despite this small hiccup, Corey and Kris developed an extremely strong bond through shared interests all the way through high school and college.

Heather Allen

Bridesmaid

Friend of the bride. Heather and Taylor became friends attending Appalachian State, another friend in the Alpha Phi sorority (Heather was Taylor’s “aunt”). Of all her friends in the sorority, Heather was the closest in age, so they spent the most time together in college as roommates. Heather moved to Taylor’s hometown of Charlotte after graduation and they were able to remain close while visiting each other in Nashville and Charlotte.

Brandon Wagner

Groomsman

Friend of the groom. Childhood friend of Corey’s while living in Andrew, Iowa. Corey moved to Andrew in the 3rd grade and Brandon was his first locker partner – to which Brandon was not happy sharing with the “new kid”. Turns out they were very compatible as they stayed close through high school & college and continue to be best friends today.

Brooke Hileman

Bridesmaid

Friend of the bride. Brooke and Taylor met at Appalachian State through the Alpha Phi sorority. They quickly grew close as Taylor was in Brooke’s “sorority family” as her “grand-little”. They also became roommates during Brooke’s final year at school. Brooke moved to Charlotte after school and has remained one of Taylor’s closest friends.

John Smachetti

Groomsman

Friend of the groom. Corey and John met in a training program at their first job out of college. Corey lived in Indianapolis and John lived in Connecticut, however they continued to stay close to each other after training and eventually ended up in Nashville together. Their friendship grew as they realized they shared several interests, and they ended up being roommates for over 2 years. Corey and John got to know the city together (along with Taylor) and they’ve stayed close ever since

Ashley MacCoy

Bridesmaid

Friend of the bride. Ashley and Taylor have been childhood friends since they lived across the street from each other when they were 5 years old. They became fast friends and stayed in touch even once Taylor moved out of the neighborhood. As they kept up with each other all throughout their school years – they ended up attending Appalachian State together and living together their senior year. They have been able to stay close to this day after 20 years of friendship.

Jesse Bliss

Groomsman

Friend of the groom. Childhood friend of Corey’s while living in Andrew, Iowa. Corey and Jesse became very close to one another while playing nearly all sports together in their days at Andrew High School. The friendship continued to grow as they both attended the University of Iowa and remains strong to this day.

Annalie Ricketts

Bridesmaid

Friend of the bride. Annalie and Taylor met at Appalachian State through the Brantley Center for Risk Management and Insurance. Through their mutual “love” of insurance, the two were inseparable as partners at school, and that remained the case after Taylor graduated. Both have stayed close after college, and they remain best friends – inside and outside of talking insurance.

Patrick Mcareavy

Groomsman

Friend of the groom. Corey and Patrick met at the University of Iowa back in 2010. While they grew up on different ends of Iowa, they each quickly recognized how compatible they were and shared several of the same interests. After college, they continue to stay very close, even as each continue to hop around the country in different cities.

Rachel Nasuti

Bridesmaid

Friend of the bride. Rachel met both Taylor and Corey while working at Liberty Mutual. Taylor was lucky enough to be placed on Rachel’s work team, and the two became quick friends. The two hung out weekly, watching The Bachelor at Rachel’s house and hitting the town as single ladies (before Corey, of course!) Even though they no longer live in the same city, they have remained close friends.

Destry Barnwell

Groomsman

Brother of the bride. Taylor and Destry have been inseparable since he was born when she was only two years old. They have always supported and loved one another, even through the typical brother/sister arguments (especially on Duke vs. Carolina gamedays!) Growing up so close in age, they have always had each other’s backs through thick and thin. Taylor is proud to have been able to watch Destry grow into the man he is today.

Sarah Mudrinich

Bridesmaid

Friend of the bride. Sarah and Taylor met through Rachel as Sarah was Rachel’s roommate. Throughout the several sleepovers, parties and Bachelor wine nights, the two became very close with each other during their time in Nashville. Even though they’ve both moved on from Nashville, that doesn’t stop them from seeing each other and remaining great friends.

Nicholas Barnwell

Groomsman

Brother of the bride. Nick and Taylor have always shared a special bond, even with their 10 year age gap. As Taylor grew up, she remembers Nick (and his wife Cassie) being away during their tours to Afghanistan and Guam. Even being across the world, they were always able to somehow stay in touch and connected. Nick is now retired Air Force and is an amazing Husband to Cassie and Dad to Taylor’s two nephews, Iain and Samuel. Taylor is very proud of the man and role model Nick is today.

Alyssa Manders

Bridesmaid

Sister of the groom. Being Corey’s only sister & youngest of his two siblings, Alyssa will never be capable of doing anything wrong in Corey’s mind. Despite being much younger than Corey upon growing up, they have shared a special bond throughout the years, and it continues to grow as Alyssa gets older. Corey looks forward to being a continuing part of Alyssa’s life and can’t wait to see her grow up to be both happy and successful.

Logan Manders

Groomsman

Brother of the groom. Being Corey’s only brother, Logan has a special place in Corey’s heart. The age difference (Corey was a senior in HS while Logan was in Kindergarten) made it unique, however Corey remains very proud of his brother and really enjoys watching him play sports. As Logan continues to get older, Corey is excited to be a big brother that can share of his “wisdom” of growing up.
