Not very many people know that about five years ago we had dated for a very short and sweet amount of time before I ghosted him! (He may never let me live that one down!) Wasn't until after New Years of 2018 that our paths crossed again. I remember Simon coming to pick me up for our SECOND first date and thinking "Holy cow I don't remember this guy being this tall and handsome!" We had some drinks and bison filets while reminiscing on our previous time together. I'll never forget the night that I was driving us home from a date (the first time we dated), it was dark and pouring rain. I couldn't see a thing. Simon told me to pull over and he would drive, so I did. We ran around the front of the car, meeting in front of the headlights. He then stopped me, pulled me close, and gave me the most magical kiss to the tune of "Kiss Me" playing from within the car. Silly me for letting that go! Fortunately he forgives me and we've shared so many more magical moments together. We've traveled to the island of Roatan where my dream of swimming with dolphins and fear of swimming in deep ocean water were both checked off. We have visited Switzerland and Italy, exploring several cities along the way. We've hiked to the top of the highest Georgia mountain peak, gone to a couple Braves game, and (my favorite) gone to a Falcons game and watched Dallas kill 'em! We also have gotten to see the excitement and magic through the eyes of Logan and Amelia when we took them for their first trip to Disney! Most importantly we have seen each other through some low and rough times throughout the last couple of years and always pull each other to top with love, compassion, and respect. For that reason is why I'm so excited to say WE'RE GETTING MARRIED!!!
Simon is a very spontaneous man who loves showering me with surprises and on Christmas Eve told me he had a little getaway planned for New Years Eve. The next few days were spent stressing over what to wear and trying to solve the mystery place with friends. I had no idea we would be going to Callaway Gardens. I also had no idea they did Christmas lights, which I love! Once we got our driving pass the guy in the ticket booth told us it was a drive thru only and made it clear to stay inside our vehicle at all times. As we're driving through the second story of lights Simon tried to pull over and wanted to get out for us to take a picture with this tree that had beautiful lights strung around it. I refused to get out the car as there were cars behind us and we were specifically told to STAY IN THE CAR! Eventually we get to the snowflake story where you enter under giant snowflakes and are surrounded by thousands of hanging white lights. It was mesmerizing. Simon again pulls over the car and doesn't wait for any rejections. Just hops out of the car, waves for the vehicles behind us to go around. I was slightly embarrassed when he stopped the last car in line and asked them to take a picture for us. We picked a spot and he then whispered a few sweet words in my ear and before I knew it was on one knee and asking me to marry me!
