Chris and I met at a time when it felt almost impossible to connect with anyone. We were still deep in the COVID pandemic, and after swearing I’d never use a dating app, I finally caved and downloaded one. Turns out, it was the best decision ever. The timing was perfect—Chris was also ready to meet someone, and we hit it off right away. I suggested we meet as soon as possible, and our first date was at a little coffee shop. We ended up talking for four straight hours! We never touched our pastries, and eventually the staff had to kick us out at closing time. Even though an app technically brought us together, everything else made it feel like pure destiny. Chris was moving right around the corner from where my parents and I lived. And get this — I grew up dancing at a studio just steps away from his parents’ restaurant, and we had no idea! We were always so close, but the universe waited for the perfect moment.
