What about COVID?

We'll keep things outdoors or in large, ventilated spaces as much as possible. To help us all stay healthy and safe, we ask all guests to be up-to-date on vaccinations and to take a COVID test a day or two before events begin. Masks are welcome and hand sanitizer will be on tap.

What should I wear?

Think semiformal. Wear a suit, dress, or other formal American or Indian clothing. Keep in mind that the weather at the end of August in the Bay Area can range from warm to hot and some events will be exclusively outdoors. Remember to bring comfortable dancing shoes!

Right on! A lot of folks have asked for tips for shopping for Indian clothing, so we're collating everything here. One option is to search for Indian clothing stores in your area. Here's a few around the Bay that are highly rated online. Bollywood Fashions, San Mateo Siya, Berkeley Dhoom Indian Fashion, Fremont If you would like to order clothes online, order well ahead of time, because clothes will probably be shipping from India. If you are interested in buying clothes online, here's a few sites to get you started: Pernia's Pop Up: https://www.perniaspopupshop.com/ Aza Fashions: https://www.azafashions.com/ Kalki Fashion: https://www.kalkifashion.com/ The Saree Room: https://www.thesareeroom.com/ Finally, if you feel like buying clothes is not the right option for you, there's a number of websites that do Indian clothing rentals (AllBorrow, Borrow the Bazaar, even Rent the Runway!) These companies will send you clothes for a selected period of time, and they will take care of dry cleaning after you return the clothes. Some also offer styling services if you are interested in getting a second opinion. Have fun!
