What should I expect for weather in India in May?

Answer

Expect heat! May is summertime in India, so temperatures will range from 110°F daytime maximum to 70°F nighttime minumum, with an average of 9 hours of sunshine per day.

What do I wear?

Answer

Please plan to dress in Indian attire for most wedding events. For women, kurta, salwaar kameez, or sari are appropriate. For men, kurta or laalchi are appropriate. Please refer to powerpoint or reach out to Manasa or Alec for further details if needed.

How does cell service work in India?

Answer

As with most other countries outside the US, your regular cell phone plan will not work in India. Some mobile carriers offer free international data and texting, but we recommend that you look into your coverage ahead of time. Another option is to purchase a local sim card or eSim, and/or a wifi brick.

How much rupee cash will I need?

Answer

In Hyderabad, many vendors are cashless and will accept major credit cards. However, it is always safest to carry at least $50 (4000 rupees) of cash on you in case of cash only situations.
