It was a hot summer night in June 2015, when his fingers stopped over his iPhone, tapped and anxiously swiped right. She looked beautiful and interesting and he could tell she was not a local. Berlin confused her. Could a local guide help her? This guy on her screen looked like he could give a great tour and he was cute. Why not swipe right? Even though the Tinder stars aligned for us, we never met in Berlin. It took 3 more months, and Malte moving to New York, before we saw eye to eye. Malte was mighty nervous during the first encounter but when we bonded over propositional logic college classes and how you best discover a city by bike it was clear that something special was born that night of August 26, 2015. The rest is history. A history filled with love, with curiosity and differences, with commitment, and with adventures. Adventures including scary nights in Beacon (NY), portrait painting classes (don't ask Kim about hers), hiking volcanoes, an unbeknown German Chocolate Cake, a night on top of a volcano in the DRC, a helicopter tour where the pilot forgot the doors, the electric slide lessons with the Pirtles, living in Rwanda and Boston, and so much more. We look forward to celebrating our day with you, to celebrate what has been, our moment of saying yes, and what is to come.
