Weather permitting, the ceremony will take place outdoors in the Pavillion at the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center. If it's cold, please dress for the weather! Seating will be very spread out and guests should feel free to move their chairs around to accommodate additional space. The aisle is extra wide so our bridal party can walk safely down!
If it rains (or snows?) we will move the ceremony to the Veranda attached to the main building at the Audubon. The Veranda provides a wood overhang, but is still outdoors. With our group of 50, we will still be able to observe social distancing if the ceremony moves to the Veranda.
We plan for a cocktail hour following the ceremony on the outdoor Veranda. If it rains and the ceremony is moved to the Veranda, we will need to allow a few minutes for the chairs to move and the cocktail hour to begin. The dinner will take place in the Great Hall at the Audubon. This large space holds 225 people seated. Our group of 50 will be very spread out to allow social distancing. Assigned seats will ensure that everyone will sit at least 6 feet from others, unless part of the same family.
We will have masks available for guests, and you are welcome to bring your own if you wish. We will not require masks during the outdoor portion of the day, but we encourage you to wear a mask if you wish. As we move inside, we ask that everyone wear a mask until seated at your table, and to keep the mask on when not eating or drinking.
Everyone involved in serving or working at the wedding will be masked and gloved.
We decided not to have dancing at the wedding since we did not feel it could happen safely. There will just be a few special dances for the bride and groom.
