Great Smoky Mountains National Park
The Smokies encompass lush forests and an abundance of wildflowers that bloom year-round. Streams, rivers and waterfalls appear along hiking routes that include a segment of the Appalachian Trail. An observation tower tops Clingmans Dome, the highest peak, offering scenic views of the mist-covered mountains.
Ijams Nature Center
A great place for an early morning walk and less than 10 minutes from downtown Knoxville. For even more adventure, check out Ijams Nature Quarry where you can rent paddle boards and kayaks. This is one of Mal's favorite spots in the city!

Hello fellow Dolly fans! Dollywood is located about 50 minutes from Downtown Knoxville in scenic Pigeon Forge at the gateway of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park - making for an easy day trip. My parents took my sister and I here every summer and Christmas season when we were kids. It's a great option for any kiddos.
