It was the summer of 2016. The Chicago Cubs were on the verge of their first World Series Championship in 108 years, and some other stuff that we'd rather not talk about happened that year too, but most importantly, love was in the air. Like all great love stories throughout the ages, this one started on Tinder. When Patrick first laid eyes on Sarah on that balmy July evening, he knew in his heart that it was love at first swipe. Sarah seemingly felt the same, as she quickly swiped (swope) right herself and even made the first move, swooning over Patrick's immense musical prowess. Countless Tinder messages turned into countless texts, and they found themselves on a date at one of Patrick's favorite bars from college, a bar that all of Sarah's friends told her not to go to because of the bar's apparent seedy reputation. Ignoring the pleas of nearly everyone who cared about her, Sarah bravely joined Patrick on that date, and they hit it off immediately, conversing for hours effortlessly and enjoying each other's company. More dates ensued before making the relationship official, and the rest, as they say, is history. A wise man once said that the years start coming and they don't stop coming, and this has never been more true for Sarah and Patrick. The years flew by, but not without their trials and tribulations. Whether they were testing the waters of a long distance relationship while Patrick toured the country in a rock band, or when the complete opposite happened and a global pandemic forced them to stay locked inside a tiny one bedroom apartment and have very little contact with any other human beings besides each other for months on end, things weren't always rainbows and butterflies. Once Patrick was finished dragging his feet for a little while longer, Sarah and Patrick decided to do a little touring themselves, and embarked on a cross country road trip. They saw plenty of new sights, tried lavish new cuisines, and found themselves on new adventures every day. None of these adventures were more exhilarating than watching the sun set over the mountains across the San Francisco bay, which is where Patrick finally proposed. It was the start of a brand new journey, but one that Patrick and Sarah could not be more excited to undertake. They both know that like nearly one hundred percent of all relationships that start on Tinder, theirs is one that is destined to last a lifetime.
