Our story begins in December 2013 with a shot in the dark when Alex sent his former high school classmate Ana a Facebook message during his college freshman break. His shot in the dark turned into all day texts. Texts turned into a first date on May 27, 2014. Dates blossomed into a summer romance. Summer romance turned into 3 years of long distance while finishing their degrees. 6 years and 3 months of dating later, Alex proposed to Ana at Royal Oak Farms Apple Orchard!
In the midst of a global pandemic, on a sunny fall afternoon, Alex and Ana drove to Royal Oak Farms with masks and sanitation gear in tow to do one of Ana’s favorite fall activities, Apple picking! At the farm, they enjoyed some warm apple cider and fresh apple cider donuts and did an apple maze where there were cute fall activities. After the apple maze, they headed over to the orchard. They went down row 42 of jonamac apples because “these apples were ideal for baking a pie”. Little did Ana know, that further down and a row over Alex had worked with the owner of the orchard and a photographer to capture their proposal. As they went down the row picking apples, they came across a clearing where there was a bench was set up with a sign, bushels of apples and fall decorations that Alex himself curated. And there in row 43 is where the magic happened. Ana turned around to see a sign that read “Ana, will you marry me?” and the love of her life down on one knee.
