Things To Do

Carter Mountain Orchard and Country Store

1435 Carters Mountain Trail, Charlottesville, VA 22902

One of Charlottesville's many highlights. A location for fun snacks, breathtaking views, and apple picking! On Carter's Mountain, look to the West and you will see the town of Charlottesville (my workplace - UVA Health, the trees around the neighborhoods Sam and I live in - The Woodlands & Sherwood Manor, and the rolling hills of Central VA). Look to the East and you will see vast farmland and our wedding venue - James Monroe Highlands. Carter's Mountain is free to visit during the day. There is a ticket fee for Thursday's Sunset Series - I do recommend checking out, if you are in town, the day before our wedding!

Belle

407 Monticello Road, Charlottesville, VA 22902

Sweet Belle. During my time living in Downtown Charlottesville, I walked to Belle on multiple occasions. Delicious breakfast and lunch options. Poured coffee comes hot or cold. Indoor/outdoor seating, a quaint coffee shop. Belle is located in one of my favorite parts of Charlottesville, Downtown Belmont. Bring a deck of cards, a book, or your travel company. Our favorite breakfast item is the #6 with a fried egg added. Sam and I have enjoyed chess and many games of cards here! The neighboring streets surrounding Belle are shaded and peaceful for walking.

The Whiskey Jar

227 West Main Street, Charlottesville, VA 22902

My favorite Charlottesville restaurant. Located on the iconic Downtown Mall, the Whiskey Jar wins in regard to food, drink and atmosphere. My favorite menu items are - The Jar Salad, The Crunch Burger and their Whiskey Sours. Sam and I had dinner here one week after becoming engaged (April 14th) to celebrate!

Riverview Park

1909 Chesapeake Street, Charlottesville, VA 22902

A favorite place to run. This past year and a half, I have been running with several friends from church on this four-mile out and back trail. Earlier this year, Sam and I trained often on this trail for the Charlottesville 10-miler race! A beautiful, paved, flat trail that follows the along the Rivanna River.

Jefferson Park Baptist Church

2505 Jefferson Park Avenue, Charlottesville, VA 22903

Jefferson Park Baptist Church is our church home. Sam and I met here, and we thank God for this local church family. If anyone plans to arrive in Charlottesville on Wednesday (September 27th), Sam and I will be in attendance here for our church's weekly prayer meeting from 6-7p. We also encourage guest to stick around until Sunday (October 1st) to join us for church at 10:30am.

For all the days along the way
