Michael and I met the Summer of 2011 at Houston Ballet Summer Program. I was completely unsure of the whole "ballet" thing, from the lengthy days to the insanely demanding schedule, while Michael seemed right at home! Michael waltzed over to my "barre spot" in Character Class and pitched a sweet, endearing first "hello" and with just a simple glance, I shut down any chance of that precious 14 year old even knowing my name! Our paths crossed again in "pas de deux" class (partnering class) later that afternoon. I had no interest in "practicing" any of the choreography, and I made it very clear we would dance in the first group for the exercise and it better work perfectly! He handled that pressure pretty well, and as corny as it sounds, we definitely had a connection through the movement and fell naturally into sync. However, the second anything went wrong he would never hear the end of it! We danced together for three years, and of those years we made some of our fondest memories and met some of our very dearest friends. We were friends, coworkers, and dance partners for about 3 years before we started dating. We have never been much of a calendar date type of couple, so we couldn't even tell you when we began dating. But we can both recall the season like it was yesterday. It was the best fall and winter holiday season of our lives, as we fell in love! It was such a blessing to experience such a pivotal time in our careers and lives together, growing side by side. We shared some of the hardest days of our lives, the most uncertain moments, the most joyous moments, the most thrilling moments, and the most inspiring moments during the first few years of dating in Houston. We have gone on to travel the world together, supporting and loving each other from near and far! Michael proposed on June 12, 2020 and here we are, so ready to celebrate with all of you! Each and every one of you are so dear to us and we cannot imagine our wedding day without YOU!
