Let's see, where to begin! Kyle and I officially met via text message in December 2012 thanks to our friends Melissa and Quentin who set us up (we owe you guys!). We met in person a month later in January 2013 on our first date to go ice skating. Kyle came to pick me up in a beat up red trailblazer that squealed as he turned into my driveway (this later became my way of knowing whenever he arrived at my house lol). We hit it off immediately and three dates later Kyle *nervously* asked me to be his girlfriend with a red rose (that I still have to this day). We dated over the next eight months and spent more time together than I had ever spent with anyone, I was completely enamored with him! At the end of the summer before Kyle left for his freshman year of college he told me he loved me (I cried and didn't say it back until 2 months later) which led us to give long distance a shot. A year later, after I headed to college in NC, the distance doubled. We spent the next 4 years seeing each other every 3 to 6 months during holidays or rare surprise visits. It was hard and we both hated it but it strengthened our relationship more than we could have imagined. We grew together but also as individuals which enabled us to build a strong foundation of trust within each other. Fast forward to the day after my college graduation when we got to move in together. We were beyond excited and it felt so surreal after such a long time apart. I didn't think it could get much better until a month later when Kyle proposed on the grand staircase of a Disney Cruise ship in front of both of our families. It was a complete dream come true and I had NO IDEA. How he managed to pull of such an amazing proposal without me knowing is truly magic. Now with all of the wedding planning underway all I can say is that I cannot wait for July 25th, 2020 because I will FINALLY get to marry that 18 year old boy who stole my heart with a nervous smile and single red rose. #FinallyAFeeney
