From the very beginning, Mallory and Ty have always been a part of each other’s lives. Their families attended church together and their moms were pregnant with them at the same time. They grew up side by side—attending preschool together and even celebrating at each other’s 4th birthday parties. Years later, when they reconnected at their church youth group, they soon realized that they liked each other. In middle school, they became each other’s very first boyfriend and girlfriend. Despite things ending between them and always attending different school’s, they eventually found their way back to each other during their freshman year of high school. Ty was Mallory's date to her sophomore homecoming and even her senior prom. Though they eventually went their separate ways during their sophomore year, their story was far from over. In the summer of 2019, after their senior year of high school, Mallory and Ty reconnected and spent an unforgettable summer together. When fall came around, they headed off to different colleges—Ty to Abilene Christian University and Mallory to Texas Woman’s University—but long distance proved challenging. Everything changed when Ty decided to move back home after his first semester and later enrolled at the University of North Texas—just minutes away from Mallory. On February 2, 2020, they officially found their way back to each other for good. Mallory graduated in 2023, and Ty followed in 2024. After starting their careers and stepping into a new season of life, Ty proposed to Mallory on December 19, 2025—a date that now holds even more meaning, as it will also be the day they say “I do.”
