We met at the West Caldwell's afterschool football workouts, where Payton was a football player and Mallory was an athletic trainee. Payton also coached Mallory's brother on the Gamewell Optimist's little league football team. In 2019 the pandemic happened and Mallory and Payton both went virtual and did not see each other for two years. In 2021, Billy, Mallory's dad, coached for Gamewell Optimist along with Payton. Payton asked Billy how Mallory was, as it had been two years since they had seen each other. That night Billy came home and told Mallory and she decided she'd go to practice to see Payton and catch up with him. After that, Payton and Mallory started talking more and more. Mallory came to every practice and every game just to see Payton, even though besides her brother playing she had no need to be there for every practice. One day Payton and Mallory were talking and found out that they were both off the next day. Payton decided to invite Mallory to breakfast, and Mallory of course said yes. At breakfast, neither of them thought of it as a date but at the end of the day they both knew that it was. One of Mallory's number one rules she made on her list of qualities for her boyfriend, was that he had to sing The Greatest Showman songs with her. On the way home, Payton threw her his phone and told her to turn on the playlist for The Greatest Showman (without knowing about her list). From that point, Payton and Mallory knew that they were with the right person.

Mallory and Payton had talked about how they would get engaged for months, but nothing would compare to how it actually would happen. Payton had planned for months how he was going to make everything happen. He finally went out and found the perfect ring and immediately called Billy to ask for Mallory's hand in marriage. Payton told him to come meet him as soon as he could. When Billy met up with him Payton showed him the ring and Billy grabbed his face and said "But Payton we hardly know each other." Thankfully it lightened the mood for Payton, but he still broke down and asked Billy for Mallory's hand and he was honored to tell him yes. A while later Payton found the perfect time and moment when Mallory and himself would be surrounded by everyone they love, and Payton started planning right away. It was at a live concert with Logan's, Payton's sister, band. Logan played a romantic love song and asked everyone to grab their significant other and dance with them. Payton grabbed Mallory's hand and they danced front and center in front of everyone, but if you ask them, it was like they were the only two people in the world. At the end of the song, Payton got down on one knee (too fast and busted his knee cap) and asked Mallory to marry him. Without hesitation, Mallory said yes. Since then the two have spent this time planning their dream wedding and would love for you to join them. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you.
