Middle School - Where we met Owen and I met in gym class in 7th at Henley Middle School. We quickly ended up in the same circle of friends. Long story short we “dated” each others best friends for a second before realizing we liked each other. However, the Murphy family rule of “no boyfriends till high school” stood firm. So we stayed friends- attended our school dances together, put notes in each others lockers, held hands at school plays, you know friend things… These crushes we had on each other carried us through middle school. High school - the actual beginning Freshman year of high school started, and about a month in, on September 27th 2015, Owen asked me to be his girlfriend. And as you can imagine, our relationship as 15 year olds was perfect. Just kidding, but it was everything a girl could hope out of her first relationship. About a year apart during our junior year of high school, Owen and I rekindled our relationship and made it official yet again on August 14th, 2018. And as college decision came around in April, Owen decided to follow me to JMU ;) at least for his first year. College - the rest of the story So we both attended JMU, where we spent the last few years together- meeting some of our best friends and making amazing memories. We got to lead Younglife in the Shenandoah Valley together. We have been challenged in our walks with the Lord and grown as a couple and as individuals. And so, on August 20th, a few days before the start of our senior year and a week or so after our 4 year anniversary, Owen proposed at Mint Springs Farm in Crozet. It was a total surprise and the most amazing moment of our lives (so far!) Where we are now We are both graduated from JMU, and moved back to Charlottesville. We are so excited to start our marriage in the same place where our story started. God has been so faithful to us over the years and we are looking forward to this next chapter together. We can not wait to celebrate with you on July 7th, 2023!
