Since 1949, Candy Cane Lane in El Segundo has brought Christmas cheer to the community with its enchanting light displays and festive spirit. This beloved tradition features an impressive array of decorations, often with a special visit from Santa himself! Most lights come on by dusk, fully glowing by 7 pm each night, making Candy Cane Lane El Segundo a delightful stop for holiday magic. Drive or walk through the holiday cheer!
Los Angeles Zoo - Lights: Animals Aglow - a holiday light & lanterns exhibit at the zoo.
LA Zoo Lights is an annual holiday light festival at the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens that features large lantern sculptures of animals and botanical wonders. For the 2024/2025 season, the event runs from November 15 to January 5. Visitors can explore immersive landscapes, see special holiday features like a magical Holiday Forest with snow-loving animals, and enjoy seasonal treats and drinks. Tickets, which must be purchased online in advance, start at $18 and include free parking on select nights
Griffith Observatory
Perched on the slopes of Griffith Park, the Griffith Observatory offers some of the best panoramic views of Los Angeles and the Hollywood Sign. Inside, guests can explore fascinating space and science exhibits, catch a planetarium show, and use public telescopes. Whether you’re a stargazer or simply want a breathtaking sunset view over the city, the Observatory is a true LA landmark. May only need an hour or so here, but stay for sunset. Or hike to the observatory! Famous hike: Runyon Canyon
Disneyland Park - Enjoy a Magical Snowfall at Downtown Disney!
The most magical place on Earth becomes even more enchanting for the holiday season. The artificial snowfall in Downtown Disney District doesn’t require a pass to Disneyland and it also gives us in L.A. a rare chance to enjoy a “white Christmas” without leaving town!
