Mallory and Dylan both attended Santa Clara University. During the first weekend of their college life in September 2011, they met at a party. Mallory was standing with her back to a wooden fence and Dylan came up to her and struck up conversation. This was to be the beginning of a long and beautiful friendship that would eventually lead to romance.

After having done long distance for 8 months, Mallory flew to Las Vegas to visit Dylan. He took her to the top of the valley over looking the city lights. They were listening to music sitting on top of Dylan's car when he told Mallory how much she meant to him and popped the question. ..she said yes!
