Chris and Shelby went to the same college, but officially met each other playing softball. It was a weekend in March where Montana Tech puts on a large softball tournament for colleges around the area, to enjoy a "Butte style" spring break. We ended up hitting it off right away due to our competitive spirits, and drank a little too much in the process. Before the game next morning, Chris got sick and ralphed all over the room. It was the true beginning of a perfect love story. After graduation, we went on a little trip on the west coast. We started in Butte and traveled to Lake Tahoe. From there we traveled up Highway 1 exploring the beaches, cities, and camping along the way. At Newport, during sunset, Chris asked Shelby to be his girlfriend. Little did he know that it would last a lifetime. Now we both live in Butte, MT with our two pups and our happily ever after.
For the past couple years, we have a cabin getaway for us and a few friends over the summer. The whole day was a little bit of a mess. We were originally going to go float but it was so cold in August, everyone hung out in hoodies and ended up playing a cribbage tournament. During sunset on Friday night, Chris asked Shelby to dance with him to a song call "This is It" by Scott McCreery. When the lyrics in the song said "For me to get on one knee, this is it", Chris got down on one knee and asked the biggest question. The weekend was one to celebrate with numerous friends and an unforgettable memory.
