We're getting married!

I could not have been luckier to meet Malika. For every year of our lives except one, we lived in different cities. And I was only in New Haven briefly and randomly, for a one-year job that could have taken me anywhere in the country. But thank goodness I arrived in the city when I did, or I never would have met my life partner. We fell in love swiftly and deeply, and I never wanted to be separated from her. Even after I moved to New York City, we were rarely apart, each of us traveling to visit the other as much as we could. Hours on the train were nothing compared to the thrill of glimpsing her for the first time at the station. Today, even though we’re separated by 1,300 miles, I feel closer to her than ever before. I never imagined I would marry such a caring friend, brilliant scientist, and perfect partner-in-crime. I’m counting down the days until I get to celebrate our love with our friends and family. :)

I met Brett more than two years ago, and it felt like kismet. I remember everything about our first meeting...from the first “hello,” to the clothes he was wearing, to the excitement in his voice when he talked. I feel so lucky that I got to meet him during his one-year stint in New Haven. There’s no one I’d rather drive 22 hours in a U-Haul with, watch Gilmore Girls for the 20th time, work side-by-side on the couch, or honestly just sit and do nothing with. I'm so excited that I get to spend forever with Brett and that we'll celebrate our love with all of you soon. 💕
