We met in college in a place neither of us really wanted to be, an intro accounting class we both dreaded. Surrounded by spreadsheets and lectures, we were equally bored and disinterested. But on the very first day, something unexpected happened. As the professor called attendance, Fardin listened carefully for one name in particular. When he heard “Maliha,” he took his chance, calling her name himself and striking up a conversation that would change everything. What started as a simple idea to work on homework together slowly turned into a genuine friendship. Between assignments and study sessions, we found ourselves looking forward to spending time together far more than the class itself. After graduation, our bond only grew stronger. We supported each other as we evolved individually, while continuing to build something meaningful together. Over time, that friendship turned into a partnership rooted in love, respect, and lots of Hot Pot. Today, we are still happiest in the simplest moments, whether we are doting on cats, trying new foods, or getting lost in hours of reality TV. What began in a classroom neither of us wanted to be in became the beginning of a life we now cannot imagine without each other.
