How We Met

07.10.2006

It was the summer of 2006, when I started my first job at Jamba Juice. Jordan, who was the "training mentor" of the store, was tasked with teaching me the art of making smoothies. He taught me that you can't simply add a scoop of ice to each concoction before blending, but that one MUST do an elaborate "ice trick," which is where you scoop packed ice, throw it in the air and catch it with the blender. Somewhere among our antics, the scent of toasted coconut, and our meager wages, we found love...and the rest is yet to come... :)

The Proposal

08.21.2018

We were celebrating our 12th anniversary together at this breathtaking restaurant in Kaua'i. There was a category 5 hurricane approaching, which was causing humidity so thick, it felt like we were walking in a pool. But that evening, the hurricane was not to blame for the clammy hands that held each other, the moment Jordan knelt on one knee. He endearingly fumbled over his proposal, and to tell the truth, I could barely hear what he was saying. I recall giggling through it all, because that's what I do best when I am nervous. When he had asked me to be his wife, it was like a moment of clarity sliced through the haze; It took but a second for me to reply "Yes!" Most of the proposal is a blur, but what we will cherish the most, is the excitement we felt as we left the restaurant and came across a melody of instruments and performers in front of the sunset. We held each other and looked out into the distance, envisioning our future. We are so excited to share this moment with everyone; looking forward to seeing you all in Maui!

Engagement Photo Shoot

01.19.2019

Tucked away within San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, is an ode to the famed poet, William Shakespeare. Our crinkled noses, bouts of giggles, and love drunk gazes are captured within this photo shoot that was made possible by Jeanne Selby (Mother of the Bride). Without her, our memories in Shakespeare's Park would not have been captured.

The Wedding Hashtag

An incredibly talented marketer, Roy Franco (Father of the Bride) came up with our wedding hashtag. Please use our wedding hashtag for all social media posts related to the wedding. It will be amazing to see the memories that you all capture in the days leading up to, as well as the day of the wedding. #MaliaMauisJordan
