The closest and largest airport is Auckland International Airport.
Yes! Although New Zealand is a small country, you will need a car to get around the island. Renting a car with a group of people can help with cost, but make sure everyone wants to go to the same places! You can also rent camper vans or VW busses as this is a great way to double up on housing and transportation 😊 that’s what we’re doing for the honeymoon!
Completely up to you! With such a long flight and all the amazing things to do we highly suggest a week or two at a minimum. We plan to stay 3 weeks, although some of this time will be our Honeymoon on the South Island.
Yes! If you have not checked out the venue website (Koru Hideaway) we encourage you to do so. This will give you an idea of where it is located and what is near the venue. We are renting Koru Hideaway from December 25-December 28th. We have events planned for the 25th-27th for our guests to enjoy. The best options for housing are Airbnb, HomeAway, BookaBach, camping at Tawharanui Regional Park and many more hotels and house rentals in the towns of Matakana and Omaha Bay.
Nope! If you are purchasing a gift please do not bring it with you. Having it mailed to our home in Indianapolis will be easier for everyone. Better yet, no gift at all! Your presence at the wedding will be the best gift you can give us.
Woah! Where to begin? We are not here to plan your trip for you, but we definitely have some amazing suggestions for you to check out while visiting. Let’s start with general areas. Auckland, Bay of Islands, 90 Mile Beach, Cormandal Peninsula, Cape Reinga, and Wellington. We suggest checking out the website www.newzealand.com/us
Our wedding falls on Boxing Day; a NZ holiday similar to Black Friday. This is one of the busiest travel days of the year. To avoid heavy traffic we suggest staying close to Koru Hideaway the night before the wedding. This also allows you plenty of time to spend with us during the Christmas BBQ.
Absolutely not. Dress up as much as you like. Keep in mind the ceremony, dinner and everything else will be on the grass lawn.
Due to venue restrictions, we regret that no plus ones will be allowed.
Of a thing, especially a landscape, place, etc.: having a pleasant aspect, agreeable to the sight, looking bright or cheerful. If you didn’t have to look it up, you win a prize! :)
